A deeper analysis of the seminal teaching of the Unification Church, the Divine Principle, is now available through the inspiration and guidance of Colorado state pastor Rev. D. Michael Hentrich on his website “Re-Discovering True Parents and the Divine Principle” at DeeperDP.com.

The clear and artfully designed website currently features nine videos of Rev. Hentrich engaged in thought-provoking discussion on key topics revealed in the Divine Principle such as “The Fall,” “The Life of Jesus,” “Who is Rev. Moon,” “Spirit World” and “Historic Parallels” etc.

“The website has been long in the making and delves deeply into many key topics of the Divine Principle drawing on Father’s speeches, personal insights and other resources,” wrote Rev. Hentrich to UnificationNews. “For youth, it offers a refreshing reminder that the Divine Principle is for logical, ‘thinking’ people; that it can be challenged and dissected in the process of ‘making it my own.’”

According to Rev. Hentrich, the website is not intended as an introduction for beginning students of the Divine Principle. “DeeperDP.com is meant for advanced study by young and old who want deeper insights into what the Divine Principle means,” explained Rev. Hentrich. “DeeperDP.com offers out-of-the-box analysis and some unique perspectives.”

Rev. Hentrich did not want to create another comprehensive overview of the Divine Principle. Instead, through his videos, he sought to focus on key topics elucidated within the Divine Principle. “We need to get the Divine Principle off the paperback bookshelf of religious doctrine and help people realize it’s a compelling, profound, relevant description of life and reality,” he said in an interview.

“I am one who never expected to be able to say ‘I have a website,’” said Rev. Hentrich. “Like many my age, I’m trying to keep up with this fast-changing world. The start of creating a website came about when I became increasingly aware that far too few of our members, especially among the Unificationist-born youth, really understood what the Divine Principle communicates to them on a transformative level and actually stand on the teachings with conviction. I had an alarming realization that individuals were not experiencing a profound personal realization of who Father and Mother Moon really are because of their tenuous understanding of the Divine Principle.”

After many years of teaching and trying to live a “Principled” life, it became cleared to Rev. Hentrich that there needed to be different approaches of explaining the Divine Principle because different types of people learn differently.

“I always felt that our traditional teaching style seemed aimed at individuals who aren’t so analytical or skeptical,” said Rev. Hentrich. “However many people, especially some Unificationist-born youth are questioning-, analytical- and skeptical-type people. I like these types of people because I consider myself one as well. We needed to create an approach of presenting the Divine Principle so that these types of people could get it also.”

According to Rev. Hentrich the teaching approach of repeating a point over and over again, expecting a person only to listen and to “eventually get it” can sometimes “just alienate an individual or turn them off” from further learning about the Divine Principle.

“I also realized that people needed more advanced and more internal guidance-style expressions of the Divine Principle,” Rev. Hentrich further added. “Our new and current members are repeatedly given introductory-style Divine Principle presentations. But, if they don’t take advantage of opportunities to study more deeply, like with Original Substance of the Divine Principle (OSDP), then they can start to think they’ve seen all that the Principle has to offer. With only introductory-style content, people can mistakenly think the Divine Principle is not profound, not significant, and not relevant to their lives. That’s a shame. We cannot cheat our members and children like that. We cannot cheapen True Parents and Divine Principle like that. We have to make the meat available to those who crave it.

“Thus I felt called to offer my two cents in that area and created ‘ReDiscovering True Parents and Divine Principle’ at DeeperDP.com.  The concept for the website came from me, but it was developed in collaboration with my son, Michael Hentrich Jr. who is very skilled in web design and creation. He artfully transformed the concepts into reality.
